Is Same-Day Discharge Safe Following Orthognathic Surgery?

Our recent study that is published at the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (JOMS) evaluated same-day discharge versus overnight admission after orthognathic surgery (single-jaw, double-jaw, and triple-jaw procedures) in 464 patients treated at the McGill University Health Centre.

This work also proposes a standardized pathway to help integrate same-day discharge into ERAS protocols.
